At Mummy Fever we had the opportunity to review some items from the Natural and Clean range, read on to find out more and see if there is anything that might help out in your house!

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

We tested these on both soft and hard surfaces. We didn't find them very effective on the carpet, in the car or on upholstery BUT they were very effective at removing touch spots on hard surfaces so still a useful product to have around. At £3.43 for 25 wipes we thought these were a great value product.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

Now... this is an interesting product. The downside of this is that the brush you use comes buried deep inside the bag so when you pull it out the product goes everywhere. This is messy to use so be prepared. However, it really works and it leaves a really wonderful smell in every room where it is used. Great for a good spring clean!

What we thought at Mummy Fever:
We are big fans of Milton at Mummy Fever and the reassurance it provides us mums with. All the Milton products are really useful but this is a great addition to the range. I personally love that 'Milton smell' as I call it - basically just clean and germ free.... wonderful! Milton understand parents needs really well and this product is no exception. Wonderfully easy to use and very handy. This is well worth the price tag of £6.99, so if your baby uses a soother this should be an essential purchase. Our reviewer thought that it was useful, practical and easy to use and said she felt very 'reassured' using this product. We can't wait to see what else Milton Baby have up their sleeves!

nEW SURVEY REVEALS ANATION OF TEDDY BOYS AND GIRLS

BUT WILL IT LAST?

...

A new survey has revealed that many British adults stilllove their favourite childhood toy long after they’ve grown up. The nationwideresearch of 5,000 found that 43% of women and 21% of men still keep theirfavourite comforter with them: that’s unless they’ve grown up to be a lawyer,teacher, farmer or to work in tourism, in which case they’re up to three timesas likely to have kept their special friend close.

The findings from the new ‘Comforting with Colief’ researchalso found that many of us might not really know who we’re turning to in timesof need as 1 in 5 British parents admit to replacing their children’s toy atsome point without them knowing!

But the research findings also suggest we’re returning to amore Victorian ‘stiff upper lip’ approach to childrearing. Whereas, 4 out of 5of today’s British adults had a specific toy to turn to as a child, now, only 1in 3 children do. Indeed, 12% of young parents (aged under 24) today will notlet their child have a special toy for comfort as they’re ‘too difficult toreplace’ and a further 8% believe that children today should learn to crywithout the help of comfort toys.

The research was conducted as part of theColief Infant Drops campaign “Comforting with Colief” which aims to educateparents on how to provide comfort: 45per cent of parents admit they’ve struggled to comfort their baby’s crying,with 1 in 3 mums admitting they’ve been driven to “the end of their tether” byit.

John Bullen, from Cry-Sis, a charity offering support forfamilies with excessively crying, sleepless and demanding babies, said thecharity had helped many parents who felt they couldn’t cope with a cryingchild. “Crying in babies is a normal response but excessive crying, especiallyif it continues for many hours, is not and is very difficult to manage.”

Sharon Skelton from Colief, said, “Excessive crying is one of thesymptoms of colic. A one week trial of ColiefInfant Drops, which contain the naturally-occurring enzyme lactase, can helprule out or identify milk sensitivity. Colief

By four months old a baby’s digestive system should havedeveloped sufficiently to be able to digest their feeds properly. Parents canstart to wean their babies off Colief firstly by halving the drops per feed,then using at alternative feeds, then for just one feed per day before completewithdrawal.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

This was our favourite. You squeeze the serum up into a pipette and then apply. It is a super, rich and silky oil BUT doesn't leave a greasy feeling. Instead skin feels nourished and smooth and well hydrated. It's a bit on the pricey side and the most expensive of the four we tried but it is certainly a quality product.

This was also really nice. If you want to go for one of the oil-based serums but don't like the price tag of the Trilogy then this one should be your choice. It smells gorgeous and is lovely to apply. Also it is a much bigger container than the trilogy so you get more serum for your money with this one. Absorbs well and was very refreshing to use.

Justin Fletcher the star of CBeebies is about to release hisdebut album ‘Hands up’ on the 5^th March. The album is packed withchildren’s classic songs but they have been speeded up with a high impact dancebeat. Parents all over the UK have been discovering that not only do their preschool children love the album, but they too canenjoy the benefit of dancingalong with their children whilst loosing weight at the same time.

Steven Teasdale is a personal trainer whose celebrity clientsincluded GMTV presenter Fiona Philips and television presenter, actress andmodel, Danielle Lineker. Steven was also the fitness expert on the LorraineKelly Show for 2 years. He is now better known on twitter as "The Stay At HomePT" @thestayathomept and combineshis personal fitness training whilst looking after his two children.

Steven is passionate about getting parents and their childrenactive and to enjoy exercising again in a fun and enjoyable way. Steven is abig fan of Justin Fletcher AKA Mr Tumble and on receiving a copy of the newalbum “Hands Up’, which is released on the 5^th March, he realisedthat the album could be used as a fitness work out for the parents.

He has put together the following guide lines which we wouldlove you to write about on your blog and test them out yourselves!

Steven danced to the album with his 3-year-old daughter, hereare his findings!

Having danced to the album with my 3-year-old daughter I would saythat participating in the full album is the equivalent of 40 minutes oflow-impact aerobic exercise.

This would be similar to going for a brisk walk, or dancing! Basedon a 200lb adult, this sort of exercise generally burns around 350 calories per40 minutes. This is the equivalent of 40g of kettle chips (Any flavour) and 175ml glass of white or red wine.

However, I've come up with ways to make the Hands Up Album a moreHIGH-impact aerobic activity, by incorporating lunges, squats and jumps for theadults (see below) in order to make the songs more cardio vascular. This sortof exercise works the large muscle groups in the legs i.e. the glutes, quads,hamstrings and calf’s and some of the movements would help to work onthe core too. This would take the calorie burn for a 200lb person up to around420 calories.

420 calories is the equivalent to Pain au chocolate and a Skinny Latte from Starbucks

Calories burned during exercise depends on your weight and, morespecifically, your BMI (Body Mass Index) so while it would be correct to saythat you can burn up to 420 calories doing the Hands Up Album, this figure is based on aperson of 200lbs (14 stone). If we're appealing to mums, the average womanweighs around 11 stone so the calorie burn would be closer to 283 calories.Which would be the equivalent of: A Mini Milk Chocolate Bar and a large Cappuccino with skimmed milk from the M&S cafe.

“As a “stay at home” parent myself Ithink it would be great forhealth conscious mums (and dads) to know that while they’re singing along anddancing with their children in doors, they’re “earning” calorie treats to havelater. If they spend 40 minutes participating in the CD in the more high impactways I’ve suggested, they can enjoy a “guilt-free” treat later!”

How to make the Album more high impact:

"Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush"

The key to making this song more high impact aerobically is foradults to keep fit together and "jump" around the Mulberry bush tothe beat of the music, rather than just "walking around". This wouldmake the motion during the song, similar to skipping, which if carried out for3 minutes (the duration of the song), is a GREAT cardio work out.

"The Hokey Cokey"

I suggest holding light weights while doing the actions to givethe arms a work out (you can use wrist weights or there are objects all aroundthe house you can use as weights) while making a punching action for the leftand right arm "in/out" sequence. Also, when you do the Hokey Cokey, you should be jumping, legstogether, into the middle, rather that just walking forwards and backwards. The "knees bend, arms stretch, rah rah rah" part canincorporate a squat.

For the part where you put your left leg in and take your left legout, adults could perform a lunge, which works the Glutes.

"The Laughing Policeman"

Marching on the spot during the verses with high knees is anexcellent cardio work out, but the key to this song is holding a plank positionfor the duration of the policeman's laugh. Four 15second bursts of laughter,which is a great core, work out and the kids will love seeing you trying not tolaugh.

"Heads Shoulders Knees And Toes"

A classic song for bending, stretching and touching your toes butwe could make it a bit harder by doing dynamic squats.

Finally, the title song “Hands Up” is such a good dance tune thatyou can do all kinds of high impact dance moves with jumps etc that will reallyget the heart and lungs working!

The CD can provide a fun “home work-out” for parents. Because mostof these songs have a fast beat and high tempo rhythm, they lend themselvesbrilliantly to a work-out for adults and a fun time for kids, which is healthyto everyone.

If you can cut out 500 Calories from your daily intake thenyou will lose 1lb per week which is a really healthy weight loss andbecause it’s done gradually it’s more likely that you will keep the weightoff, so by doing this album with your kids daily you are more likely to hitthis target.

I wish I had one of these during my first pregnancy when it was a really hot summer as I think it would be great for pregnant mums who get hot. What we thought at Mummy Fever:

We are big fans of these scooters at Mummy Fever. If we lived close enough to school the children would scoot to school everyday. Sadly we don't but I am considering driving part the way there, parking and they can scoot the rest of the way.

These scooters are great for building confidence and independence in children and promote a fun way to keep active. They are very stable and easy to turn and control and these seats that you can now get with them mean that children as young as one can start out on the scooters. When they grow and their confidence builds, the seat can be removed ... genius!

These scooters ooze quality and I have to say next to these the cheaper similar models are noticeably not as well made. The scooters look like they will withstand most things.

Now I do think that riding a bike is very important and the children do have bikes - but scooters are so handy and light weight in comparison they really do have their uses. Popping a couple of scooters in your boot when you go away from example is much easier than a couple of bikes with bulky stabilisers attached.

When it comes to pelvic floor exercises here is my story. Before having children I don't think I ever thought they were important. I exercised daily and sometimes for long periods of time and I don't remember ever particularly considering the need to do these exercises, although I did have a strong core from lots of pilates. Having been told about the importance of these when I was pregnant I began the exercises with fury, desperate to ensure a strong pelvic floor during and after my pregnancies. I got into the habit of doing them at traffic lights every day - I would see how many I could do before the lights changed - I always thought this must have been very entertaining for passers by as I couldn't seem to do them without raising my eyebrows at the same time!

The problem with these exercises is you are never quite sure if you are doing them correctly and if you are making a difference.

This is where the Kegel 8 Ultra comes in very useful as you can rest assured the correct muscles are being worked and in a much more effective way. What we thought:
Babybeads are a great idea. I could have done with one of these myself when I was breastfeeding! My babies were always pulling on either my hair, necklace, scratching my skin etc. Both of them used to get so tangled up and one of these would have been a wonderful distraction!

This necklace is stunning and makes a lovely piece of jewellery, as well as having the function of stimulating and distracting your baby.

Our reviewer was a big fan of the necklace. She said "My baby was instantly fascinated by the necklace and I no longer have red scratches on my chest! She gripped it tightly, rubbed the beads between her fingers and gave it a few good tugs. I have worn it everyday and it has become part of my breastfeeding routine now". What we thought at Mummy Fever:
These products certainly ooze quality. The products are nice to use and smell lovely. What we thought at Mummy Fever:

We were away the week before half term and drove a total of 2000 miles - these chedds made a handy, useful, tasty and interesting snack for the children. I always pack a mountain of different snacks for our long trips and I like to provide the children with a range of things to snack on. It is really good to have something different which can capture their attention and taste buds when the sat nav decides your are suddenly in the middle of a field!

I can highly recommend the chedds range and so can my two little tasters! They actually went down quite well with the big kid in our house as well.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:
Great for using with babies and children, this product offers piece of mind to parents. Easy to use, safe, hygienic and cost-effective this is an essential item for any parents baby kit. There is always the worry with little ones about pushing a cotton bud in too far and this prevents the need to do that, whilst also actually offering the ear some protection too. The product is easy to come by and in fact I spotted a whole shelf of the product in boots this morning. The lady in front of me at the counter was buying a bottle as well!

About the Author:

Ever since he first held a crayon, Preston Rutt has loved writing. He started by writing all over the brand new wallpaper (sorry mum) and took things from there. Now, some 30 years, three schools, one university and six advertising agencies, later, Preston loves writing more than ever.

Captain Yellowbelly is Preston's first children's book and was inspired by his young son Archie who, just like his dad, likes writing all over the brand new wallpaper. Preston lives in Kew with his writer wife, Mel, Archie and their six cats! none of whom are the least bit interested in writing.

Leo Timmers was born in Belgium in 1970. Up to the age of 18 he mainly drew comic strips. After studying advertising and graphic design he became a freelance illustrator and began to illustrate children's books. Gradually he also started writing stories himself.

In 2000 he received a Bookfeather award for his illustrations in 'Happy with me', which he also wrote. In 2005 and 2006 he won the annual children's and youth jury prize. His picture book 'Who is driving?' has been translated into twelve languages, with editions as far as Japan, Australia, USA, Finland, France, Germany, Denmark.

Next to children's books, Leo also does illustrations and covers for magazines and has worked on a number of advertising campaigns. In 2005 he designed a board game for Volkswagen of America which picked up 3 New England Hatch Awards. Over the years, his style has evolved but has always been marked by humour, form, colour and incisive ideas. Leo lives in Brussels with his wife Gina and two daughters Luna and Mara.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

We utterly LOVED this book. It was engaging from start to finish and the illustrations are just wonderful. The story appealed to my children's sense of humour - in particular my own little pirate who fell about laughing when I told him what the book was called! Yellowbelly is a great character and I can imagine a whole series of books being built around him. My daughter wanted to know when there will be a story about the Pirate Princess Presto though ... hint hint Preston and Leo!

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

Our testers at Mummy Fever tried all three of these products. The Hollywood Smile treatment was very effective and nice to use. Also worked as a good freshen up during the day. This definitely works with regards to improving whiteness, so a good product all round.

The pearl Drops...Now Smile was our favourite product of the three tested. This seemed to make a difference straight away to teeth so great if you want to brighten things up quickly. The freshness it gave was also really long lasting and teeth felt really clean.

The Now ... Smile Corrector we struggled with a little bit. Teeth have to be really dry for this to work and the coating you are left with feels a bit odd afterwards. This certainly has its place as an emergency touch up if you needed it but takes some getting used to.

Out of those tested the Now... Smile paste came out on top!

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

OK so we are waxing virgins over at Mummy Fever. I have never had my legs waxed professionally ... mainly because I can't bear the thought of having to get to the stage where they were long enough to wax, as I hate even the tiniest bit of stubble on my legs ... yuk and double yuk.

My cold hands struggled to warm these strips up enough to apply to my skin at first so I abandoned the process and tried again later. Much more success, at least I could get the wax warm enough to stick to my leg! The ripping it off bit I didn't have a problem with so that was easy enough and lets face it when you've had babies, a quick leg wax is nothing.

I was pleasantly surprised with the results (although I did have to touch up parts with the razor) the special oil was very soothing and must work well as I have quite sensitive skin and I haven't had any irritation since. It lasted a little longer than shaving but only a couple of days longer.

I think these are actually quite good value as you get quite a lot of strips for your £20 and don't forget you use each strip several times.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:
We tried the lip cleanser and the lip plumper. We loved the lip cleanser. It is so true that you often ignore your lips. Mine get chapped and dry in the winter and I am constantly applying lip balm. The cleanser was really effective. It is handy for us mums as it is fast - takes 30 seconds to do and my word do your lips feel better! Mine were softer and smoother and didn't feel as sore. You need the tiniest of amounts as well so this tube will last ages, making it well worth £12!

The plumper was effective in that it does what it says here, lips do appear fuller and more youthful. It is quite sticky however and it flows out quite fast so you often end up with more than you need so be careful with that.

There are loads of great products to make us feel better over on the Bliss website so if the lip products aren't for you it's worth having a look to see what else they can offer as there are some products you don't see ordinarily.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:
The Stérimar range is really useful. We were really impressed with the baby nasal spray and I only wish I had known about this sooner. It is really important to keep babies noses clean and clear as they cannot blow them like we do and do the majority of their breathing through their noses. If only I had known about this product when I was trying to breast feed babies with blocked noses. This is really effected but safe and very easy to use at the same time - a must for any baby box and only of those essentials you should keep in stock!

The nasal hygiene spray is useful for the whole family and is again very effective. I suffer with hayfever in the late spring and throughout the winter the heating often gives me a dry and stuffy nose. This most certainly improved that and I am looking forward to seeing how it helps my hayfever later in the year. I think this would be a really good item to take if you were travelling as well, as flying for example can have a real drying effect on our skin, nose and throat.

The congestion relief spray is like the grown up version of the baby spray. This is great during a cold or even just when you have a bit of congestion. It makes blowing your nose much easier and helps keep germs at bay - helping to protect the whole family.

Overall I think these are really quality products which do just what they say, a good addition to any family first aid cabinet and supporting us not only through those winter months when many people suffer with colds and flu but also during the summer months when allergies are more common.

I have given my children a multi vitamin most days since they were 6 months old. I think it is really important to give them that extra boost where you can. They are very good about taking them, but always struggle with the ones with Omega 3 in as they do have a scent about them. They prefer the fruity ones! This range is really good and I have bought from them before and will do again. I also took the Pregnacare in both pregnancies so am familiar with the brand. I have never used Collection 2000 foundation before and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It gave even coverage and was nice to apply and it just proves that you don't always have to spend a fortune on make up items. This is a bargain at £2.99 and would absolutely serve as an everyday type foundation. It lasted all day and I didn't need to apply much for even coverage either.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:
As women many of us have had a breast scare OR if we haven't we know someone who has or worse. I had a scare about 8 years ago, before my children. I had put off going to get it checked out. In the end it turned out to be a pulled muscle, incurred at the gym (where I practically lived before I had my babies). 8 years on it is still uncomfortable and the only time I haven't been aware of it has been during both pregnancies!

I was therefore really keen to try the Breastlight. All I can say is what an amazing invention. Very easy to use and comes with a VERY helpful DVD as well. We all need to be breast-aware and this is a great support to do that.

Suitable for all ages of women, this is a quality product - even telling you how long it has been since you last checked your breasts!

I don't know about you but I really have no idea what I am feeling for and I think I have quite naturally lumpy breasts which doesn't help matters. What was reassuring was that all I could see were veins.

What we thought at Mummy Fever:

We asked one of our testers to try this as she has suffered with ROSACEA for a long time and hates it. She has only been using the emulsion for one week and feels she has already noticed a massive difference in her skin. She had given up trying to find a cream to help this and had instead chosen to cover it up BUT having used this she feels this could really help.
